Abstract

13,526. Richmond Gas Stove &. Meter Co., and Sherburn, W. H. June 13. Gas burners; air a n d gas supplies, regulating.-The atmospheric burners of incandescent gas fires and other apparatus are fitted with devices which move simultaneously both the gas-supplying nipples and the air shutters on the mixing - chambers of the burners., The device shown in Fig. 1 consists of a slotted cylindrical part e attached by arms m to the rotatable gas nipple i and working in conjunction with the slotted air-supplying cylinder c forming the lower part of the mixing-chamber. The gas passes ply through the orifice k of the nipple i, and partly, as shown by the arrows, through the annular space b and wedge - shaped cuts l, the quantity of gas passing through which is regulated by the movement of the nipple i with respect to the upper end of the annular space b. A fixing-screw n is fitted. In a modification, the nipple i is made as shown in Fig. 3, and is screwed into the boss of the arms m, which are attached to the base of the cylindrical part e.
