Dark slides; envelopes.-A magazine dark slide comprises a magazine, a sliding cover thereto, and devices for holding a sensitized surface against the cover and for bringing it into the magazine when the cover is withdrawn after exposure. The sensitized surface may be introduced in a wrapper of the kind described in Specification No. 10,955, A.D. 1905, consisting of two envelopes, with extension handles, which slide into one another, and which are withdrawn through the light-tight slits i, k, Fig. 3. Pins m on the spring plate a engage notches in the film C, which is held in position against the slide F by the spring frame G. After exposure, the slide F is withdrawn, and the end s of the frame G falls against the end c of the slide, lowering that end of the film, which drops into the chamber beneath. The frame G is slotted at G<1> for this purpose. The band over the rollers o, p prevents the nlm from being damaged by the slide F. In a modification, the pins holding the sensitized surface in position are adapted to the spring h in the frame D, and the band q is omitted, the film merely dropping into the space beneath. In a further modification, Fig. 12, the-pins m<s> are attached to the frame G, the fixture of this frame being slightly modified, and duplicate springs h' have hooks h4 to prevent the film C from being withdrawn together with the slide F.
