Knobs, attaching.-The square spindle b, Fig. 2, carrying at one end the fixed door knob a, has at its other end a screwed part, over which travels a nut e', Fig. 6, which when adjusted bears against a plate f, Fig. 4, fastened to the door by prongs f<1> and by the rose-securing screws passing through the apertures f<2>. Projections h on the nut e<1> engage sockets i in the neck of the knob, or vice versa. The rose d, having a cylindrical part j, is previously slipped over the expanded part c' of the knob neck, and the part j is turned in, as shown. The neck of the knob has a square hole to receive the spindle. The attachment is completed by screwing the rose to the door.
