Knobs and handles, attaching.-Door knobs and handles are secured to their spindles by passing the shank of the rose f over the grooved shank of the knob c, and then forming a circular depression h, Fig. 2, on the shank of the rose to fit the groove in the shank of the knob. The shank of the rose is then turned to remove all trace of the depression. The rose screws on to a thread on the spindle. The knob, which is adapted to receive the square end of the spindle, turns freely within the shank of the rose.
