Knobs, attaching.-The shank 2 of the knob is either made in one piece with the knob or screwed thereto, and is of such a length as to pass through the door and project against the lock case. The hollow nut 1, with or without a rose fixed thereto, is screwed into the door, its internally-flanged end taking over the nut 3 screwed to the end of the knob shank, thereby screwing the knob in place. In a modification the hollow nut 1 and the nut 3 are made conical, the flange in this case being dispensed with.
