6819. Laidlaw, J. March 31. Clatches.-Relates to combined centrifugal and friction or claw clutches for centrifugal machines driven by electromotors and for other purposes. A conical or other friction or claw clutch piece 2 is secured to the driving-shaft 1, a clutch piece 3, turning loosely on a fixed part 4, being movable to engage with it. Paws 6 on the piece 3 fit between loose pieces 7 adapted to engage centrifugally with a sleeve 9 carrying lugs 22 engaging lugs 23 on the driven shaft 8. Lubrication is provided as described in Specification No. 24,123, A.D. 1904.
