Motor road vehicles. - Relates to two-speed driving-gear and spring systems of mounting the driving- wheels independently of one another. The driving-wheels b are geared in different ratios to pinions l, m, mounted loosely on the countershaft a, so that propulsion is effected by one or other wheel at a different speed according to which pinion is clutched to the countershaft, the clutches h, i being connected by levers and links so as to move simultaneonsly. The countershaft is driven from the motor w by a belt f running over a fast or loose pulley. The wheels are mounted on fixed axles s, as shown in Fig. 3, the ends of the axles being adjustably secured to springs r for the purpose of tightening the driving-chain, the springs being connected to the frame of the vehicle.
