Abstract
2469. Schwenke, [nÚe Pessel], E. Feb. 7. Desks; tables.-In a table convertible into a sloping desk, the table top consists of three hinged parts, the middle part a being provided with two depending supports fitting into sockets and adjustable in height by means of pins. The middle part a, provided at each end with a vertical bar c which may slide in a socket fixed on the table frame, carries the two side parts b by means of hinges. When it is desired to use the table as a desk, the middle part is raised and secured by means of pins e passing through apertures f in the sockets and in the bars c ; or the raising of the middle part may be effected by means of rack gear and a crank. In some cases, one of the side parts is dispensed with, and in the case of smaller tables the middle part may be supported by one vertical bar. Drawers may be fitted in the table frame, and an adjustable folding footrest h, carried by pins i, k, may be provided.
