Abstract

Regulating. - In water turbines or pumps wherein the angularity cf the rotor blades may be adjusted, means are provided for facilitating the turning of the rotor blades during running. Referring to the left-hand side of the Figure, which shows one form of the invention, the journal of each blade S mounted in the rotor Z bears on the conical surface of a ring r, which is mounted on ball bearings K and turns freely under the friction drive of the adjustable blade. In the construction shown on the right-hand side of the Figure, the flat surface b of the blade journal turns upon the cylindrical surface a of the supporting ring r, which may be mounted with or without ball or roller bearings.
