Control Of The Air-Fuel Ratio Of Carburetors
(AREA)
Abstract
24,176. Dion, Marquis A. de, and Bouton, G. June 24, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. Gas or explosivev a p o u r engines, carburetting i n, The carburetter is provided with tubular valves 6, 7, the inner valve 7, which may be adjusted longitudinallybysligbtly rotating the shaft 15, regulating the air supply, while the valve 6 regulates the supply of mixture to the engine through the outlet 11. The normal air supply is fed to the interior of the inner valve 7 through the passages 8, 9 and past the underside of the valves 6, 7. An auxiliary air inlet is provided by bringing the port 12 into coincidence with the inlet 13 in the valve 6. The engine may be governed by cutting off the supply of mixture by rotating the outer valve 6. The two valves are arranged to rotate simultaneously by means of a pin working in a vertical slot (not shown). The hydrocarbon supply, which is controlled by the piston suction, is fed through the spraying-nozzle in the ordinary way
