22,829. Horsfall, A. E. Oct. 24. Calculating-apparatus.-Fig. 4 shows a calculating-scale used in connection with a clinometer. Units of length are marked along the line k, and a pointer l is pivoted at the zero mark. The pointer is moved along the line m to the reading given by the instrument. The vertical distance between any graduation of the line k and the pointer gives the error for that distance.
