L i n e a r - dimension gauges.-A micrometer gauge adapted to give readings in different systems of units is provided with a number of scales on a fixed member of the gauge and with a number of corresponding scales on a rotary member. The usual rod c engages an internally threaded memher d on which are marked two scales e, f, graduated according to the different units of length. The scale e co-operates with a scale g on a tube t; this tube is slotted at h and a scale i is engraved thereon such that, when the rod c has moved ¢ mm., the 50 graduation has moved the length of the scale i. Marks K<1>, K<2>, &c. are made on the member d opposite the successsive positions of the zero mark of the scale i.
