Abstract

22,656. Jaray, A. Oct. 20. Annular-chamber type.-Engines with revolving cylinders have the piston a<1>, b<1> of one cylinder connected to the cylinder b, a next in advance ; diametrically-opposite cylinders being united by radial arms c, e which drive the shaft d through ratchet clutches f<1>, g<1>, similar clutches, acting on a fixed sleeve, serving as detents. Reversing- clutches may be employed, and instead of the cylinders with curved axes, oscillating cylinders with straight axes may be used. The invention is described in connection with a two-stroke-cycle internal-combustion engine, each cylinder and its pump being formed together side by side. The engine is fed through one of the fixed sleeves, and exhausts into a rotary silencer. It may be worked on a four-stroke cycle.
