Cylinder machines with plane printing-surfaces ; delivery apparatus; set - off, preventing. - In Wharfedale machines, particularly when used for colour printing, additional grippers F, Fig. 1, are provided on the delivery chain C, to supply set-off sheets b between the printed sheets on the delivery table H. The cylinder A has ordinary grippers to which a sheet is fed, and at the same time a sheet b is fed to the grippers F, from an auxiliary feeding-table. As the sheet b passes to the delivery table H, the latter is moved on rails, in the reverse direction, until the sheet b is directly above the pile, when it is released from the grippers F by jigger fingers J. The printed sheet a, taken from the cylinder A by the grippers G, overtakes the delivery table H while it is slowly returning, and drops on to the pile when the grippers G are released by the fingers J. The movement of the delivery table may also be used without the interleaving devices if desired, and is specially suitable for delivering thin paper.
