Impact-wheels.-A reversible impact - wheel, which may be compounded and which is driven by steam, compressed air, or the like, is shown in Fig. 1. The wheel 4 has a wide rim with V-shaped blades 5 adapted to be acted on by a jet of fluid from one of the duplicate inlets, which cause the jet to impinge vertically on the blades. Similarlyinclined duplicate exhaust passages 16 are provided and valves 17 are used to close the passages which are not in use.
