Abstract
4630. Barker, R. W., [Webb, H. C.]. Feb. 27. Tents.-The guys and other ropes may be fixed without shackles to pins in the ground, and the tension on them is regulated by adjusting the height of the tent-poles A, which are fitted at their lower ends with sockets F, working on screws D fixed to ground plates B. There are two washer plates I at the top of each pole, the upper one carrying a headpiece H with a spindle G fitting into a recess in the pole. The adjustment is made by rotating the pole by means of the arm K.
