Fig.2 shows a portion of one of the panels, each of which is composed of a number of wedgeshaped bars C, those on one face of the plate being disposed at rightangles to those on the other. A frame or grid, Fig. 6, for negative plates consists of two grids E, E', each consisting of wedge - shaped horizontal and vertical bars arranged to form a number of squares, the squares in one grid E breaking line with those in the other E<1>. The bars forming the grids are connected at their ends to the rim D, and those in one grid E are attached to those in the other E' by short strips G.
