Jackets and covers.- The plate segments E of each series forming a layer of the tyre desscribed in the main Specification are connected by cords e<3> arranged as shown in Fig. 2. To prevent overheating, the spaces between the plates and cords may be filled in with asbestos yarn. The inner canvas ply C may be folded under and around the outer surface of the outer band of segments.
