22,037. Hickinbotham, W. T. Dec. 4. Lift valves; repairing, facilitating.-The conical casing C is detachably secured to the connecting- sleeve A by a screwed tube B. The spindle D has a projecting ring f, which squeezes a washer F against a ring f<1> and against the casing, and so closes the valves. The inner end of the spindle screws through a guide in the tube B, and can be over-screwed so as to abut against a seat d and so close the supply pipe, thus enabling the casing &c. to be removed for repairs. In a modification, the seat d is fitted with a separate disc valve.
