Abstract

11,689. Tilston, E., and Lewin, F. M. S. May 18. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Repairing valves.-To prevent flow of water from the main G when the stem B and the gland C of the tap are removed for renewing the washer, a deep automatic valve 0, which is forced upon its seat R by the pressure of the water, is fitted in an enlargement I. Guideribs M, machined in the centre, are provided. Means are provided to prevent the valve 0 from dropping into the main. A pin P keeps the valve open until the gland is unscrewed. When the pressure of the water is low, the underside of the valve 0 may be hollowed or recessed.
