Oil and spirit burners. -An ordinary oil or spirit burner f is provided with additional parts, by which a blue flame may be obtained for heating or lighting purposes. In the form shown, the gallery u supporting the chimney is cylindrical, and has a double row of air openings. A gasification socket or chamber d is adjusted on the outer tube of the wick-holder, outside which is a gallery v. A perforated mixing bell c rests on the inner edge of the wick-tube f, and is provided with a rod which conducts the heat of the flame to the air entering t h r o u g h the tube f. The mantle p is supported by a rod q. Another form of the device is shown having an ordinary chimney gallery. The burner may be used without the additional parts, as an ordinary oil or spirit burner, but can be converted to the incandescent form at will. The arrows show the directions of the air supplies.
