Incandescent gas and vapour burners; vaporizing-apparatus ; vapour supply.-The mixing- tube f of an incandescent burner and the tubes g in which the internal air-supply is heated are mounted on a hinged reflector b. Air enters the tubes g from an annular chamber d formed in the reflector, as shown in Fig. 1, or situated between the reflector and an outer jacket n, Fig. 2. In vapour lamps, the vapour passes from the vaporizer i, down a tube j, and up to the nipple through a narrower tube k. Heat-conducting ribs i*, k<1>, Fig 2, may be formed on the tubes i, k. According to the Provisional Specification, the starting-device may comprise a metal tube enclosed in an asbestos tube and perforated at the top, and having one end projecting from the casing and provided with a screw plug. Heat may be concentrated upon the tubular parts of the burner by surrounding them with a jacket of asbestos &c. attached to the chimney or to the reflector.
