Abstract
29,399. Walker, G. W. Dec. 16. W i c k burners, solidflame; burners, preventing conduction of heat from. - Relates to a lamp comprising a wicktube c, a cone d the aperture of which is near the level of the top of the wick - tube, a chimney i supported a little above the cone, and means for heating the air supply. The cone d is perforated and is provided with a sleeve fitting on the wick tube. The cone may be double, Fig. 2, or a single cone may enclose two wick tubes. A concave shield p, Fig. 7, may be secured to the cone, or a perforated wedge - shaped cone q, Fig. 8, may be used. A coiled wire l<1> holds the wick vertical, and a cone l in the reservoir prevents spilling. A diaphragm n, Fig. 5, may be provided to shield the reservoir from radiant heat.
