The liquid enters the carburetter through a valve j with a grooved face, and mixes with air entering through the pipe t. The air is divided into two streams by a sleeve u, and their relative sizes are adjusted by a rotary valve c<1> controlled by a lever q<1>. The mixture passes through a layer of gauze o' to a box g<1>, whence it passes through another valve k<1> controlled by the lever p<1> and the pipe l<1> to the engine cylinder.
