Abstract

23,370. Br³nler, C. Nov. 7. Vapour burners.-Relates to burners for liquid fuel, and especially to those in which the fuel is sprayed upon heated surfaces. As shown in Fig. 1, the fuel, sprayed upwards from the pipe a, is mixed with sufficient air from the air pipe c to produce incomplete combustion upon striking the vaporizer b. A further supply of air enters through the air pipe d, so producing complete combustion at the mouth e of the burner. The vaporizer is thus kept comparatively cool, and lasts longer. The modification shown in Fig. 2, in connection with a crucible, has an air pipe c and a hollow vaporizer b. Air passes through lateral slots, and mixes with the fuel. Complete combustion takes place after a further addition of air, at the mouth f of the burner.
