Upon this shaft are mounted wheels C<1>, C', which run on upwardly and outwardly inclined guides C<2>, so that the gravitating and wedging action of the shaft and blocks C maintains the davits inboard. Catches J<5> lock the davits in this position. The apparatus is worked by pulley tackle E and A acting in opposite directions.
