Abstract
7996. Boardman, F. R. April 4. Reflectors. - Relates to improvements on the reflectors described in Specification No. 5318, A.D. 1891, and is specially applicable for the lighting of streets and the like. The illumination of a larger area than is possible with a single conical reflector is effected by the combination of a compound conical reflector A, B with a conical reflector C, the reflectors A, B, and C being respectively arranged in the manner shown in the Figure relatively to the electric or other lamp X. The lines R<1>, R<2>, R<3> indicate the directions in which the rays of light are reflected. The reflectors may be used separately, and their shapes may be slightly modified.
