Plate and like boxes and receptacles.-Boxes for photographic and other glass plates, for transmission by post or otherwise, consist of wooden boards or sides A separated at the ends by distancepieces a, and at the bottom by a piece b. The lid or distance-piece c is pivoted at one end, at d, and is secured at the other end by a cord or pin &c. passed through perforations as shown. When used for photographic plates, an opaque covering and a cap lid may be used. The box shown is adapted for only a single plate, but by using partitions or end grooves it may be adapted to carry several plates.
