Abstract
2140. Leyden, O. Feb. 2. Trunks.-Trunks &c. are formed from sheets of veneer. One sheet, which serves to form the bottom and two sides, has two notches in line between the bottom and sides at each side, and, by suitably steaming &c., the sheet is bent along those lines to form the sides and bottom, as shown in the set-up box &c., Fig. 1. Flanges are at the same time formed on the sides and bottom, to which the ends 7 are secured by glueing or otherwise. The lid, Fig. 2, is similarly formed, except that the ends are integral with the top.
