Figs. 1 and 2 show a tyre consisting of an outer tube a separated into two portions by a long strip e of canvas or the like ; in the inner portion an air tube c is situated, and in the outer portion a punctureproof tread consisting of cork or like blocks f having converging flat faces. Fig. 4 shows a tyre in which the canvas strip e completely envelopes the cork blocks, and the air tube is replaced by a partition c', the edges f<1> of which are cemented to the tube a. In the latter form of tyre, the edges of the tube a are united to make the inner compartment thereof inflatable.
