10,176. Foulston, F. April 23. Tyres, pneumatic.-Air tubes are formed from flat bands of elastic material having dovetailed edges which are interlocked, as shown in Fig. 2. The loose portions b may be placed inside instead of outside as shown, and they may be thickened and provided with projections f to fit the in turned edges of the rim, as shown in Fig. 3. Or, they may be cut on the edges of separate strips cemented to the band. Flaps d, Fig. 5, inside, or similar ones outside, may be used to ensure airtight joints.
