Jackets and covers; tread bands, projections, and surfaces.-A tyre cover or tread band comprises interwoven leather or other strips 1, 3, which are secured together at their ends by rivets or the like 2, and at the centre by rows of rivets or the like 4. The strips are preferably tapered at the ends to allow the cover or band to fit the tyre. The edges of the cover or band may be provided with beads or the like for securing it to the rim.
