Jackets and covers; tread bands.-A protective band, which is secured in any suitable manner to the tread of a pneumatic or other elastic tyre, or between the outer cover and the air-tube of a pneumatic tyre, comprises a hoop a of thin steel having scalloped edges, which is bound with a strip or strips c of linen, canvas, or the like, and provided with an outer covering d of rubber. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 14,399/93.
