Tyres, pneumatic.-To prevent puncture, the tyre cover is made with a recess a', which may be formed by securing to it strips b, Fig. 6, and in this recess is placed a thin flat band c of steel or other suitable material. The band may be in one piece or in several pieces connected by flat loose sleeves d, Fig. 3, of the same width as the band, which allow relative circumferential movement. The air-tube is protected by a strip e of canvas or rubber secured at its edges to the cover. Fig. 2 shows the steel or like bands fitted to ordinary covers by bands f of rubber or the like.
