Tyre.s, pneumatic.-A protective band to be fitted between the air-tube and cover comprises a canvas &c. backing E having on either side a series of slightly spaced disks D secured by means of cords F and staples G. The disks in the two series break joint as shown. The band may be fitted between layers H of felt &c. and enclosed in an asbestos or like pocket I. The disks may be of celluloid, horn, phosphor bronze, aluminium, or other material. In a modification, the two series of disks are arranged on the same side of the backing.
