Abstract
19,008. Mumford, A.G. Aug. 17. Water-tube boilers. -The arrangements are particularly applicable to the boilers described in Specifications No. 8729, A.D. 1893, and No. 8043, A.D. 1895. In order that the feedwater may travel in a determined course through the system, the water chamber X of the boiler is constructed. with a partition B in which is placed the non-return valve C, so that the feed entering by the pipe D must first circulate through the tubing x. The valve may, instead of being placed in the partition, be in an internal pipe connecting the two compartments of the water chamber. The invention may be adapted to various forms of boiler, as for instance by making one of the tube-boxes the supplemental chamber, in which case the valve is located internally or externally.
