Abstract
7859. Hinson, C. March 26. Stands, card, photograph, and like. - Relates to a cycle stand, also applicable for holding other articles, such as photographs, screens, show cards, and the like. Arms a<1>, having claw-shaped upper ends a<3> and curved lower ends a<4>, are pivoted together at a<6>, and are connected by rods a<2> as shown. Bent pieces a<8> are secured to the rods a<2> to form a rest for the bottom of the wheel. On placing the cycle wheel in the stand, its weight causes the jaws a<3> to close up and grip the tyre, thereby supporting the cycle in an erect position. Pressure on the outer end a<7> of one of the arms causes the jaws to open and release the wheel. The feet a<4> of the stand may be provided with rollers to facilitate the opening and closing of the stand.
