To 00% whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE B. PRICE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Bicycle-Stand, of which the following is a v specification.
My invention relates to a method of supporting and suspending bicycles when not in use. It is a stand so arranged that the bicycle-frame is held up by it at two points of suspension above and each side of the center of gravity and otherwise secured to prevent swaying, so that the suspended weight of the bicycle is made to pass down through the supporting-post of the stand to the floor.
Referring to the drawings, Figure 1 illustrates the manner in which this stand suspends and holds a mans Wheel, and Fig. 2 a slightly-modified form adapted to a similar use for a womans bicycle.
tail of the sliding sleeve and attachments shown at m in Figs. 1 and 2.
Referring to Figs. 1 and 2, a is a vertical post fastened at its lower end into a base b and supporting at its upper end a cross-bar member e or d, adapted to receive and sustain the bicycle-frame, as shown.
Fig. 3 shows a desecured by the set-screw 7t. (Shown in Fig. 3.
Having described my invention, What I claim as new and original, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a bicycle-stand the combination of a vertical post attached to a base and carrying arms at its upper end, with a movable sleeve encircling said post and having a projecting finger, an offset lug, on opposite side to finger, to which is separately pivoted a fork, and a setscrew engaging the sleeve and post only; substantially as shown.
