Abstract
189,412. Coindet, A. Nov. 25, 1921, [Convention date]. Addition to 156,500. Roller-blinds.-The brake mechanism for blinds described in the parent Specification is modified in that the brake spring 10, seated on the fixed ring 9 on the stationary spindle 5, acts directly upon the member 30 of the two brake members 30, 31, the adjacent faces of which have two interengaging shallow depressions. When the blind is drawn, the rotation of the sleeve 21<1>, which is fixed in the blind roller and carries ratchet teeth engaged by two fixed pawls 40 on a spring pressed ring 41, causes, by virtue of the engagement of the pawls with recesses in the extension 42 of the member 31, the rotation of the member 31, the member 30 being thereby pressed back, as shown in Fig. 3, against the action of the spring 10 which returns the member 30 into its original place when the depressions on the faces of the members 30, 31 allow, the longitudinal movement of the member 30 being effected by a projection 33 on the spindle 5 engaging a helical groove 32 in the bore of the said member 31.
