Abstract
Metallic lead or litharge is volatilized and oxidized completely to monoxide by heating to at least white heat. The reaction mixture is cooled to allow the formation of a fume of lead oxide which is separated by suitable means such as washing or filtration. Specification 11816/86 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) includes the treatment of other lead compounds such as the carbonate or sulphide, by oxidizing heating whereby lead oxide is formed. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
Process of hydrometallurgically treating oxide products of lead and zinc, or oxidised lead ores containing zinc, or mixed oxidised or sulphide ores of lead and zinc, to obtain therefrom separate metals or concentrated products of lead or of zinc
