Frame components, sections and forms of; sheet-metal frames.- Frame members of aircraft, motor vehicles &c. are formed by bending sheet-metal &c. so that a web is produced which bisects an outer continuous-fronted encircling casing. Fig. 1 shows the leading edge of a plane or chassis of a model aeroplane, in which a sheet of paper is bent about the lines a, b, c, and the web portions e are gummed together. Circular and double T-section casings may also be used. The edge d may be bent back and fixed to the front of the casing. The central web may be cut off with parts left at the ends or side to form lugs. Rivets i, having bifurcated ends i<1> and tongues i<2>, i<3>, may be introduced through coaxial holes by being provided with temporary caps. The tongues i<2>, i<3> are then bent over by a punch l, and the ends i' clinched to the casing.
