[Addition to 9635/09.] Planes, construction of.--The annular planes 6, 6<a> of the aerial machines described in the parent Specification are downwardly curved at 10 along a part, or the whole, of their leading edges. Fig. 4 shows a portion 10 curved along the whole of the leading edge, the curvature varying from the centre to the lateral edges 14. Instead of tapering towards the lateral extremities, the deflected strip 10 may be of uniform width. In another modification, the deflected strip is bounded at its rear edge by a transverse chord of the plane.
