Abstract

188,447. Cameron, H. G., and Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd. Sept. 13, 1921. Leading-in uires. - In electric incandescent lamps and other vacuum and like tubes the ends of the seal wires 6 are connected to the leading-in wires 8 at a point some distance from their ends, and the ends of the wires 8 are embedded in the seal 4 to obtain a firm support therein while the joints between the wires 6, 8 lie either outside of the seal, as shown in Fig. 3, or at the surface of the seal, or only just within the seal as shown in Fig. 2. The wires 6 may be single as shown in Fig. 2, or double as shown in Fig. 3, and may be connected to the wires 8 by welding, or by being threaded through holes therein, or otherwise. Heat conductors may be similarly sealed in glass &c.
