Indicating action of; .combined fixing and m o v i n g cylinder pumps; two barrels in series; regulating by closing suction valves. - In a pump of the kind described in the parent Specification, the suction ball valves are replaced by a port 36 in the moving barrel 8 controlled by the fixed piston 7<b> and a port 43 in the fixed barrel 9 controlled bv the moving barrel. The valve 39 in the piston 7b is cylindrical and is opened by the liquid during the upstroke of the barrel 8 when the port 36 is closed by the piston. The delivery may be regulated Ly adjusting the piston 7<b> axially by turning a threaded portion 7<a> of the piston rod in a fixed nut so as to vary the moment in the upstroke of the barrel 8 at which the port 36 is closed. The piston rod carries a guide sleeve 7<c>.
