Abstract

187,841. Dallwitz, R. W. von, and Duffing, G. Oct. 21, 1921. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Capillary-action lubricating; lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.-Oil collecting in annular grooves v in the bottom brass of a bearing is applied again to the shaft and passes through grooves u, s or u<1>, s<1>, according to the direction of the shaft, finally collecting again in the grooves v. In Fig. 1, oil is applied to the shaft by capillary pads k consisting of sheets of metal which are folded so that vertical capillary gaps are formed. the whole being pressed against the shaft by a spring t. In Fig. 2, small spring-pressed rollers k are used to apply the oil to the shaft
