Abstract

186,966. Drake, J. W., and Kirk, G. A. June 10, 1921. Brush-holders.-A contact pin connected to the brush acts as an abutment for the spring which presses the brush on to the commutator &c. The brush 4, Figs. 2 and 4, resting on the commutator 2, has a plunger 5 sliding in a threaded bush 6 closed by a screw plug 7. A flexible lead 9 is connected to the brush 4, and at the other end to a contact pin 10, which holds the bracket 11, pivoted at 13, in the position shown, against the action of the spring 8. In a modification, Fig. 4, the contact pin 14 has two prongs situated one on each side of the bush 6.
