186,805. Lockyer, E. G. F. Sept. 3, 1921. Food-warming stoves.- In a portable food-carrier of the kind comprising outer and inner chambers 1, 2 which may be coated with heat-insulating material, the two chambers are flush at their front surfaces, the inner chamber being closed by a jacketed door 3, and a withdrawable fuel or ice carrier 8, fitted with a front plate 10 slides beneath the inner chamber between guides on the double bottom of the outer chamber. Holes 11, 12, controlled by sliding dampers 14, serve to regulate the admission of air and discharge of gases, and baffles 17 are provided as shown. Sliding trays 5 are adapted to hold food receptacles, a hinged cover 21 serves as a hot closet for plates &c. and a carrier handle 23 is provided. The container may take a cylindrical form, in which case the door is at the top, and the carrier trays may be mounted in a vertical frame and lowered into the inner chamber. For keeping food warm, cylinders of prepared charcoal are burnt in the well 9 of the tray 8, whilst the carrier serves as a refrigerator when ice is placed on a grid 9<x>, Fig. 4, carried by the tray 8, and the holes 11, 12 are closed. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 195/00.
