346,436. Picnic boxes or outfits. SHAKESPEARE, H. T., Garrison Works, Garrison Lane, Birmingham. Jan. 10, 1930, No. 915. [Classes 18 and 133.] An improved picnic outfit comprises a main box or receptacle, carrying fittings for cups, plates, &c., and a pair of subsidiary boxes or trays, normally lying side by side on the main box, and connected thereto by parallel links, so that they may be swung aside to disclose the contents of the main box. In one form, the subsidiary containers c, d in the form of trays are supported upon the main receptacle b and are connected thereto by sets of parallel links e, f, so that they may be swung upwardly and outwardly to allow access to the main receptacle b. In the open position, the trays c, d rest upon the ends g of the main receptacle. The outfit as a whole fits removably into an outer trunk, like casing a, the front wall of which may be hinged at the bottom to drop open outwardly, if desired. Handles h are provided on the outer ends of the containers c, d to allow the outfit to be lifted from the outer trunk. In another modification the outer trunk is dispensed with and the bottom receptacle is provided with a lid which closes over the two subsidiary containers. In this case the front pairs of links are cranked inwardly and the subsidiary containers rest on ledges provided inside the main receptacle so that the lid may close down. The subsidiary containers. may also be arranged longitudinally side by side so that they swing forwards and backwards instead of laterally.
