186,222. Hardt, J., and Sobawa, J. Aug. 9, 1921. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Ellipsographs. - In instruments of the kind in which an ellipse is drawn by passing a pen &c. round a stretched string, the string is passed through eyes 6, 7 in the extremities of legs 1, 2 which are pivoted at 21 and are integral with arms 23, 22 extending beyond the pivot. The arm 23 has an eye 24 through which the string passes, and the arm 22 has two such eyes 25, 26 and also carries a sleeve 27 having eyes 29, 30 to which the ends of the string can be secured, so that the effective length cf the string can be altered by adjusting the sleeve 27 along the arm 22.
