485,354. Measuring fabrics. MOSSAZ, A. Sept. 8, 1937, No. 24461. [Class 42 (ii)] Ribbon &c. to be measured is pulled under a wheel 14 having on its periphery a metal-brush the wires of which make an angle greater than 90‹ with the ribbon &c. on the entering side of the wheel. The wires may be bent as shown in Fig. 3. The wheel 14 is connected with a counter 10 pivoted at 18 and is pressed on the ribbon by its own weight assisted or controlled by one or more springs 19 or by a weight which can be slid to either side of the pivot 18. The wheel 14 may carry two brushes with belt inclined in opposite directions, and may be in two parts hinged together so that its periphery can be adjusted.
